The Enugu State Police Command has arraigned and secured the remand of a 51-year-old member of a Neighbourhood Security Watch Group, Emeka Emmanuel Nwangwu, over the alleged murder of his 19-year-old cousin, Loveth Uloma Nwangwu, in Nsukka.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the suspect was arraigned today, following the conclusion of investigations conducted by the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Following the completion of the investigation, the suspect was charged before the Enugu State Magistrate Court on a one-count charge of murder. The court ordered his remand and directed that the case file be transmitted to the Ministry of Justice through the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

CP Giwa extended his condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the victim, assuring them that justice was already taking its course with the arraignment and remand of the suspect.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring that all cases of violent crime are professionally investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
