Entry of Gov. Mbah, others to APC sealed Enugu, S/East to Centre – APC Chieftain, Ngwu

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Hyacinth Ngwu, says entry of Gov. Peter Mbah and political heavyweights to the APC comfortably sealed Enugu State and South-East to the national ruling party at the centre.

Ngwu, a former South-East Publicity Secretary of the APC, said this while reacting to the much-awaited defection of Mbah and other political heavyweights from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State to APC on Tuesday in Enugu.

The APC chieftain noted that Enugu remained the South-East capital as well as the region’s economic and political hub.

According to him, any movement that is rooted in the state permeates seamlessly to other states in the region and the entire region put together.

He said, “So, today witnessed the mother of all political defections in the South-East region.

“This could be seen by the very very important personalities that came to Enugu to be part of this momentous event.

“Today marks the end of effective opposition in Enugu State.

“I heartily welcome Gov. Peter Mbah and all active members of National Assembly of PDP extraction and too many political juggernauts that joined APC today.”

Ngwu described the new entrants into the national ruling party “as wise politicians”; adding: “No Wiseman would sit put in a sinking ship”.

.

“Indeed, APC tomorrow is here. This is a great transition from a sinking ship to a supersonic jet.

“This is a renewed and reinvigorated move to mobilise resources for greater economic and social growth in Enugu State and the entire South-East,” he added.
