Enugu begins recruitment of 450 staff in PHCs to strengthen healthcare

The Enugu State Government has approved the employment of 450 clinical and non clinical staff within its functional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to strengthen manpower needs.

The State Commissioner for Health, Professor Ikechukwu Obi and the Executive Secretary of Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA), Dr Ifeyinwa Ani-Osheku disclosed this in a joint statement announcing the recruitment exercise.

They noted that those to be employed are based on existing man-power gaps identified in PHCs in each of the 17 local government areas.

The statement said the initiative complements the ongoing construction of 260 Type 2 Primary Health Centers across the 17 local government areas of Enugu state and aims to deliver both qualitative and quantitative healthcare services efficiently.

It called on suitably qualified and interested candidates are invited to apply for the entry-level positions on grade level 2 to 13 online portal through online portal only on https://enugustate42.editorx.io/enuguhealthcare.

The application which opens on June 12th, 2024, will close on July 11 2024.

As part of the transformative healthcare initiative of His Excellency the Governor of Enugu State Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in fulfilment of his mandate to Ndi Enugu to ensure the provision of Universal Health Care through the pivotal tool of Primary healthcare as the bedrock of the health sector.

*four hundred and fifty personnel* spanning clinical and non-clinical roles to ensure round-the-clock provision of quality health service delivery *in the Primary Health Care facilities across the 17 local government areas in Enugu State.*

*Relevant Certification:* Candidates must possess the necessary qualifications in their respective fields.

*Annual Practicing License:*
Applicants must hold a current practising license.

*Willingness to Serve:* Candidates should be prepared to work in PHCs across any designated location within Enugu State.

*Local Residency:* Applicants must reside within the areas they intend to serve.

* Staff Nurse/Midwives, Grade level 7
