***RECOVER VEHICLES, ATM CARDS, LAPTOPS, AND OTHER EXHIBITS
The Enugu State Police Command has arrested six male suspects for conspiracy, robbery, fraud, and cultism in separate credible information-guided operations.
Recovered from them are two minibuses, one motorcycle, eleven bank ATM cards, one laptop, and other incriminating exhibits.
Between 25th August and 4th September 2025, operatives of the Command’s Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad arrested three suspects: John Joseph, a.k.a. “Musa” (34), Kingsley Essien Ubong (40), and Ogbonna Kelvin (43). One Daihatsu Hijet minibus (Chassis No. S321V 0112161) and a Kymstone motorcycle (Chassis No. LKIPCJL1XM1000263), both without registration or engine numbers, were recovered from them. Their arrest followed the confession of one Chinedu Onwuka, earlier arrested in May 2025 for a similar offense, arraigned, and remanded.
Similarly, on 2nd September 2025, at about 11:43 a.m., the same Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad operatives arrested Sunday Ebuka Egbuaba (38), a suspected Junior Vikings Confraternity member. A search at his residence led to the recovery of one HP laptop allegedly stolen from a male victim. His arrest followed the confession of Nnaji Ifeanyi (23), a Black Axe member already under investigation for conspiracy, burglary, stealing, and cultism.
In another operation on 30th August 2025 at about 8:00 p.m., operatives attached to the Nsukka Urban Division rescued and arrested Friday Nwaomege (25) from a mob along Enugu Road, Nsukka, after he and two accomplices at large snatched a Bank ATM card from a male victim. He sustained mob-inflicted injuries before police intervention, was treated, and is now in custody. Recovered from him were twelve ATM cards of different banks and an ENTRACO-branded Daihatsu Hijet minibus (Reg. No. ENU 902 YS, Fleet No. R-04/12309), used for the operation and damaged by the mob.
Efforts are ongoing to arrest fleeing gang members and recover more exhibits. The suspects will be charged in court upon conclusion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to rid the State of crimes and criminal elements. He urged citizens to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of the police.
