ESIRS wins Best State Revenue Agency in ICT Integration award

 

The Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (ESIRS) was on Friday October 11, awarded the Best State Revenue Agency in ICT integration award, a testament to the state’s commitment to innovation and technology.

The award was given by the Bureau of Public Service Reform from the Office of the President.

Chairman Emmanuel Ekene Nnamani was also honored as a Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer, recognizing his leadership in revolutionizing revenue collection.

In his acceptance speech, Nnamani expressed his gratitude for the recognition and described the award as an encouragement for the Service to do more.

“This award is not just a recognition of our achievements, but a call to do even greater things for Ndi Enugu. We must continue to push the boundaries of technology and innovation to elevate our state’s revenue collection,” Nnamani said.

Under Nnamani’s leadership, ESIRS has made significant strides in leveraging technology to enhance revenue generation. The award is a validation of the state’s efforts to improve its internally generated revenue (IGR), which has seen significant growth since the inception of the current administration and underscores ESIRS commitment for enhancing revenue generation, positioning Enugu State for continued growth and development.

The chairman also mentioned that the award would not have been possible without the visionary leadership and unwavering support of His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State Gov. Peter Mba.

He said Governor Mba’s administration is focused on leveraging technology to drive economic growth and development and has created an enabling environment for ESIRS to thrive.

“The Governor’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation has been instrumental in ESIRS’ achievement, and this recognition is a testament to his efforts.
