… Commends Gov. Mbah On Construction Of PHCs, Smart Schools
The Ukehe Development Forum (UDF) has passed a vote of confidence on the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area chairman, Dr. Eric Odo.
The group also passed a vote of confidence on Governor Peter Mbah for his support and dedication to the development of the LGA.
This was contained in a communique issued on Monday at the end of its interactive meeting in Ukehe. which was signed by the UDF chairman, Dr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe, the UDF Secretary, Barr. Fabian Igbo and the Convener, Mr. Chinedu Akwolu.
It said that stakeholders in Ukehe comprising of political leaders, captains of industries, business moguls, civil servants and community elites – are satisfied with Odo’s performance in office.
The group promised to mobilise needed resources to support developmental initiatives of the Council chairman and also nurture potential leaders in the community.
They commended the attention given to the Agu-Ukehe road as pivotal for economic and tourism growth, and called for creation of business hub in Agu-Ukehe, in order to attract investment.
The group however appealed for speedy reconstruction of the old Enugu – Opi – Nsukka road as well as resolution of water scarcity issue in some areas.
“The Forum reinforces commitment to embrace collective responsibility for community progress.
“We advocate for intensified efforts to combat drug abuse through NDLEA intervention and community-driven awareness campaign.
“We recommend to institute periodic recognition programmes for outstanding educators, health workers and students as motivation incentives,” the communique reads.
The group commended Governor Mbah for the construction of Smart Schools and Type-III Primary Health Centres across all the ward in Igbo-Etiti, describing it as laudable projects.
They urged the contractors handling the projects to ensure that they delivered the project at the stipulated time, to enable people enjoy the facilities.
