Gunmen abduct Delta farmer, demand N40m ransom

A 48-year-old farmer, Mr Kingsley Mordi, popularly known as Titi Camara, has been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in Issele-Azagba, the Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the victim was kidnapped along Umu Ubeh Farm while returning to his farm around 7 pm on Friday.

The sources told newsmen that the family had been contacted early Saturday morning and that the kidnappers demanded N40 million ransom.

“Mr Kingsley Mordi was kidnapped yesterday (Friday) while returning from his farm around 7 pm, and now this morning, they contacted two of the family members and demanded N40 million.

“We have reported the matter to police, and the DPO Issele-Azagba is on ground now making efforts how to rescue the victim,” the sources said.

Recall that six persons were reportedly kidnapped in the area a few weeks ago.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said he was not sure if the incident had been reported to the police.

He said, “Not sure if they have reported.”
