The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmen in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area since 1999 till date have promised to support the administration of the council chairman, Dr. Eric Odo.
The chairmen also pledged their unwavering loyalty to Governor Peter Mbah and his second term ambition.
They stated this on Monday when they visited the council chairman in his office in Ogbede.
Speaking during the visit, the first PDP chairman in the LGA, Mr. Alfred Ugwu, said they would join hands with the council chairman to ensure he delivers on his campaign promises.
Ugwu commended Odo for the outstanding projects he had executed, and pledged their unalloyed support to him.
According to him, they would extend the support to Gov. Mbah and his quest to develop the state.
“The council chairman, Dr. Eric Odo, is the eye of the governor in Igbo-Etiti LGA.
“So, he has asked us to join hands with him to deliver the good work needed to be done in Igbo-Etiti.
“We all accepted to join hands with him,” Ugwu assured.
Responding, the council chairman reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance.
Odo emphasized that leadership is anchored on responsibility and performance, stressing that public office holders must continually earn the trust and mandate of the people.
“As we approach one year in office, I am pleased to announce that we will be holding a Town Hall Meeting in September, where I will present my account of stewardship to the people.
“I will ensure that you are fully carried along. There is no better way to honour those who have served our Local Government than to accord them the respect and recognition they deserve.
“I urge you to keep supporting Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.
“Supporting tGovernor Mbah means standing firmly behind his directives and policies, which are designed for the progress of our state,” Odo hinted.
