Lagos arrests man over fence wire theft at Peace Park

The Lagos State Government has arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly attempting to steal a fence wire mesh at Peace Park, Ojota.

It was gathered that the suspect, identified as Adamu Ismail, was apprehended earlier on Monday by officials of the Lagos State Parks and Recreation Agency.

The development was disclosed in a post by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on X (formerly Twitter), who condemned the act and issued a warning to would-be vandals.

“Acts of vandalism against public infrastructure will not be tolerated.

“These facilities belong to all of us, and protecting them is a shared responsibility

“We will continue to enforce without compromise to safeguard public assets across Lagos,” Wahab wrote.

According to the commissioner, Ismail was immediately handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps for processing and is expected to face prosecution for vandalism of public property.
