Soldiers kill two Boko Haram commanders, seven others in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), backed by the Air Component, have neutralised nine Boko Haram terrorists, including two top commanders, in Borno State.

A credible military source told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the operations, conducted between August 21 and 22, thwarted planned terrorist attacks in Bita and Wulgo.

The slain commanders were identified as Abu Nazir, Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, Munzir of Koloram.

“They were neutralised during a fierce gun battle at the Wulgo axis,” the source said.

Recovered items include AK-47 rifles, a cache of ammunition, and six motorcycles used by the insurgents.

The military high command commended the troops for their operational success and urged them to sustain the momentum in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign despite persistent challenges.
