Tragedy struck in the Ondo State capital as a dispute over an ₦800 debt between two sisters turned fatal.
A middle-aged trader, identified as Bosede Iluyemi, allegedly killed her elder sister, Omowumi Tewogboye, during an argument over the repayment of money for tomatoes and pepper bought on credit.
Witnesses said the quarrel escalated when Bosede reportedly grabbed Omowumi by the clothes, causing her to fall. She sustained severe injuries in the process.
Omowumi was rushed to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
The Ondo State Police Command confirmed Bosede’s arrest in connection with the incident. According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, an investigation is underway, and justice will be pursued to its logical conclusion.
