The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State, Chief Obodoeze Chukwuma Ocho, has appointed veteran journalist Comrade Oliver Ossai as Media Adviser and Spokesperson for his 2027 governorship campaign.
According to the appointment letter, Ossai will oversee media activities, public communications and strategic media relations for the Obodoeze Ocho Campaign Organization ahead of the 2027 Enugu State governorship election.
Ossai brings more than 15 years of experience in the Nigerian media industry. He previously served as Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Council, and as a Controller of News at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), where he worked as Political Editor and Reporter.
His professional background in journalism, political reporting and public sector communication is expected to strengthen the campaign’s media engagement, public outreach and visibility across Enugu State’s 17 local government areas.
The appointment comes as political activities gradually build ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Enugu State, with political parties and prospective candidates positioning themselves to communicate their programmes and policy proposals to voters.
Chief Obodoeze Ocho, an economist and financial expert, is seeking the governorship on the platform of the ADC, with a campaign agenda centred on economic re-engineering, technology-driven security and agricultural digital innovation aimed at creating employment opportunities for young people.
The campaign’s proposed priorities highlight economic development, the use of technology to address security challenges and the application of digital solutions to agriculture as key areas of focus.
Ossai’s appointment is expected to play a significant role in communicating the candidate’s policy agenda and coordinating media engagement as the campaign prepares for the 2027 electoral contest.
