The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has opened its recruitment exercise for qualified Nigerians, inviting applications across four categories, with the deadline set for November 1, 2026.
Information published on the commission’s official recruitment portal shows that the exercise covers Detective Superintendent, Detective Inspector, Detective Assistant, and Professionals and Skilled Workers positions.
The recruitment is open to Nigerians who meet the prescribed educational, age and other eligibility requirements.
For the Detective Superintendent cadre, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old and possess a bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma from a recognised institution, alongside a valid National Youth Service Corps discharge or exemption certificate.
Candidates seeking appointment as Detective Inspectors must be between 18 and 27 years old and hold a National Diploma or National Certificate in Education.
For the Detective Assistant position, applicants must be aged between 18 and 25 years and possess at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
The commission is also recruiting professionals and skilled workers aged between 18 and 40 years, with relevant qualifications or experience in fields including medicine, pharmacy, law, nursing, engineering, information technology, financial analysis, human resources, media and publicity, research, administration and other specialised areas.
Applicants are required to be Nigerian citizens, possess basic computer skills, declare their academic and professional qualifications, and be medically fit, with evidence of fitness from a government-approved hospital. Candidates must also have no criminal record and must not have tattoos on any part of their bodies.
Additional requirements apply to cadet applicants, who must be single. Male candidates must be at least 1.67 metres tall, while female candidates must have a minimum height of 1.64 metres.
The application process is entirely online through the official portal at https://recruitment.efcc.gov.ng
Applicants are required to register with their personal details, including their National Identification Number, verify their email addresses, complete the application form and upload the necessary documents.
Documents listed on the portal include passport photographs, birth certificates or declarations of age, local government or indigene certificates, educational certificates and applicable NYSC or professional certificates.
The commission warns that applicants must submit only one application, adding that multiple applications or the provision of false information will result in automatic disqualification.
Candidates are also advised to review their details carefully because submitted applications cannot be edited.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to present printed copies of their application forms during screening.
The EFCC has emphasised that the recruitment exercise is completely free, warning applicants against individuals or organisations demanding money in exchange for recruitment assistance.
The commission says it has not authorised any agent to collect payments from prospective candidates.
Interested Nigerians are advised to consult the official recruitment portal for complete requirements and submit their applications before the November 1, 2026 deadline.
