Enugu Govt Introduces Sponsorship of Postgraduate Studies for Outstanding Legal Officers

As part of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s commitment to transforming the justice sector and enhancing public service delivery, the Enugu State Government has announced plans to sponsor Master’s and Doctorate degree programmes for outstanding legal officers in the State Ministry of Justice.

The announcement was made by the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, during a staff engagement session held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Enugu.

Dr. Udeh described the sponsorship initiative as a strategic investment in human capital and a reward for exemplary dedication and professionalism.

He emphasized that the move aligns with Governor Mbah’s broader agenda of building a results-driven, knowledge-based public service.

“This administration under Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is committed to excellence. We are recognizing and rewarding staff who consistently demonstrate commitment to the justice sector’s mandate. Supporting their postgraduate education is a step toward building a more capable and forward-thinking legal workforce,” Dr. Udeh stated.

In addition to the sponsorship programme, Dr. Udeh revealed that the Ministry’s library has undergone a comprehensive renovation to support legal research and continuous learning.

The upgraded facility now features a modernized reading area, well-organized shelves, and improved access to legal texts and weekly law reports.

“Our goal is to provide a conducive environment for learning and professional growth. I am pleased to announce that our e-library is now fully operational, complementing the physical library to meet the evolving needs of legal practitioners,” he said.

The Commissioner urged staff to maintain the new facility, handle materials responsibly, and adhere to usage guidelines. He noted that while renovation efforts are ongoing, significant progress has already been made.

“Staff now have access to complete law reports, well-equipped reading rooms, and digital resources. These improvements reflect Governor Mbah’s vision of a modern and efficient justice system,” he added.

Dr. Udeh concluded by reaffirming the Ministry’s dedication to continuous professional development and encouraged staff to take full advantage of the new opportunities being made available under Governor Mbah’s administration.
