The Executive Governor of Enugu State Barr. Peter Mbah on Friday commissioned projects at Nsukka Local Government Area of the State, executed by the Council Chairman, Hon. Walter Ozioko.
At the projects commissioning ceremony, Governor MBAH said his administration will continue to embark on development of infrastructures that will enhance the welfare of the people and eradicate poverty.
Governor Mbah who was represented by his Deputy, Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai stated that roads and water play vital roles in the development of the society.
He said “our commitment to development and progress, especially in the grassroots, knows no bounds,and all these projects mark another milestone in our journey towards a future of prosperity for our state”.
He added that the project unveiled is of development and a signpost in the capacity of leadership.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area,Bar Walter Ozioko who expressed happiness and gratitude to God over series of victories of the Governor at the polls and at the courts saying that the victories were an eloquent testimonies of the confidence of the people to him.
Ozioko noted that the gathering was to “celebrate success, embrace unity and sustain our commitment to our greater tomorrow which your excellency have brought within our reach today”
The chairman acknowledged Governor Mbah’s disruptive innovations that is fast turning Enugu State into the attraction of the world.
He added that this journey of a million miles, began barely two years ago with a single step which he said is an exciting and adventurous journey,a journey of hope and faith.
Also speaking, Prof Sam Onyeishi, Hon Dan Shere, Hon Fabian Onah,the PDP chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area said they were overwhelmed with the achievements recorded by the Local government boss, Hon Walter Ozioko in an interval of just two years.
The highpoint of the occasion was the commissioning of the projects to the glory of God and service to humanity by the executive Governor.
The projects commissioned include;Â a commercial borehole, road projects at cold room road,Lejja park road,Onudi aloke road all in Nsukka town,and at the local government headquarters,an edifice housing skill acquisition centre which he named after Governor Peter Mbah and also a Legislative Council building which he named after Senator Fidelis Okoro.
