…..Launches 45-Day Discount Window to Encourage Land Regularization
The Enugu State Government has announced a 50 percent reduction in fees for Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) and other land title documents, as part of its efforts to promote transparency and efficiency in land administration.
In a public service announcement issued by the Enugu State Geographic Information System Services (ENGIS), the government approved a special 45-day discount window to enable property owners to process and regularize their land documents at reduced rates.
According to the Managing Director of ENGIS, Mr. Chinwetalu Nwatu, the discount window takes effect from October 15, 2025, and will run for 45 days. During this period, all applicants who process their Certificates of Occupancy and related land title documents at the ENGIS office located in Ebeano Estate, Independence Layout, Enugu, will enjoy a 50 percent reduction on all applicable fees.
Mr. Nwatu explained that the initiative is part of the government’s broader reform to sanitize and update land records, eliminate revenue leakages, and ensure proper documentation of property ownership in the state.
“This exercise demonstrates the government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and service delivery in land administration. We encourage all property owners to take advantage of this opportunity to secure their land titles at half the usual cost,” Nwatu stated.
The government has also urged the public to disseminate the information widely to ensure that more residents benefit from the temporary relief.
Residents can visit the ENGIS office or official website for further details and application procedures.
