FG earned $500m from exports in 2025 – Minister
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, has said the Federal Government earned over $500m from exports in 2025.
Oduwole disclosed this on Monday while appearing before the Senate Committee on Trade and Investment to defend the ministry’s 2026 budget proposal.
She said the revenue was generated from industrial development initiatives and efforts to diversify the economy, adding that the ministry’s programmes also created more than 20,000 direct jobs within the period.
According to the minister, activities on the Nigeria Commodity Exchange expanded significantly, with traded volumes rising by over 500 per cent.
She said the ministry advanced a strategic partnership to establish a national trade and distribution company to strengthen structured commodity trading and improve market access.
