Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has called on Christian faithful to embrace humility, reflection, and spiritual renewal as they begin the Lenten season.
In a message to mark Ash Wednesday, which signals the commencement of Lent, Governor Mbah described the season as a sacred moment for Christians to pause, look inward, and realign their hearts with God.
He noted that Ash Wednesday represents a call to humility, deeper reflection, and a more committed walk of faith.
According to him, the Lenten journey provides an opportunity for believers to find grace in quiet moments, strength in sincere reflection, and renewal in their relationship with God.
The governor further expressed hope that the season would refine and soften hearts, drawing individuals closer to divine purpose in their lives.
He added that the ashes, symbolic of the day, should remind the faithful not only of human frailty but also of God’s enduring mercy that renews daily.
Governor Mbah wished all Christian faithful a meaningful and grace-filled Lenten season.
