The suspects were arrested at about 1:40am on October 27, 2026, in the NEPA area of Jos North by troops of Sector 1 of the operation.
The Media Information Officer of Operation Enduring Peace, Capt. Chinonso Oteh, confirmed the arrest while speaking to journalists in Jos on Wednesday.
Oteh said the suspects were linked to the attack on vigilante personnel and the subsequent arson of their office.
“The arrest followed allegations linking the suspects to the attack on vigilante personnel and the subsequent setting ablaze of their office,” he said.
According to him, the arrest was part of ongoing efforts by OPEP to tackle criminal activities and sustain peace across the state.
Oteh assured residents that security personnel would intensify operations to identify and apprehend individuals involved in activities capable of undermining peace and security.
“We call on members of the public to cooperate with the military and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist in preventing criminal activities and apprehending suspects,” he said.
He added that public cooperation remained crucial to maintaining peace and security across Plateau State.
