The Enugu State Government, through the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), has announced the recruitment of qualified candidates into various academic, technical and administrative positions in public primary and junior secondary schools across the state.
According to a job vacancy advertisement issued by ENSUBEB, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill 6,580 vacancies aimed at strengthening the state’s basic education system.
The available positions include 4,698 teachers for core subjects such as Mathematics, English Language, Basic Science, Basic Technology, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), French, Igbo Language and History.
Other vacancies include 520 Digital Librarians, 380 Experiential Learning Innovators, 267 Guidance and Counsellors, 267 ICT Staff, 267 Laboratory Attendants, 136 Account Officers, and 45 Technicians.
The board stated that applicants for teaching positions must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), or a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), or proof of ongoing registration, is mandatory.
Candidates applying for other positions are expected to possess qualifications relevant to their respective fields, including Library and Information Science, Guidance and Counselling, Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting and other related disciplines. Applicants with Degree or HND qualifications must also present a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, while practical ICT proficiency is required across all cadres.
Interested candidates are to submit a formal application letter, detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), copies of academic and professional credentials, birth certificate or sworn declaration of age, and valid contact details.
Applications may be submitted either as hard copies to the Office of the Executive Chairman, Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), or electronically as a single PDF document to ensubebofficial@outlook.com.
The board emphasized that the recruitment exercise is free of charge, warning applicants against paying any fees. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for screening and interview.
