Grassroots Wave Builds as Traditional Ruler Joins Mbah’s Re-Election Drive

As Street-to-Street Movement for Gov Peter Mbah Honors Igwe Madu as Grand Patron

ENUGU — The 042 Street-to-Street (Ogbe to Ogbe) Movement for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilization and support for the governor’s re-election, while honoring a prominent traditional ruler as its Grand Patron.

At a well-attended ceremony held in Achi, Oji River Local Government Area, the movement conferred the title of Grand Patron on His Royal Highness, Igwe Godwin Madu, JP (Mbaogu II of Mbaogu), Ezeala III of Archi, Deputy Chairman of the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman of the Enugu West Senatorial Zone Council of Traditional Rulers.

Addressing the gathering, the Director General of the Street-to-Street Movement, Hon. Prince Uche Mbah (Alhaji Kpakikpo), explained that the group is not a conventional campaign outfit but a voluntary coalition of old boys, landlords and stakeholders born, residing and operating within Enugu Urban.

He stressed that the movement is “driven by conviction, not contracts,” noting that members have consistently deployed their personal resources to mobilize support for Governor Mbah, just as they did in the previous election.

Prince Mbah added that the group’s focus remains on engaging residents of the city through sustained grassroots outreach and community awareness initiatives rather than partisan campaigning.

Also speaking, the Founder and BOT Chairman of Street-to-Street for Peter Mbah, Chief Kenechukwu Ezewelu (Ezeudene I of Enugu State), lauded Igwe Madu for accepting to serve as Grand Patron, describing the development as a blessing and a major moral boost to the movement.

Chief Ezewelu outlined milestones already achieved by the group, including ward-level mobilization, extensive grassroots engagement and strategic community involvement aimed at promoting the developmental strides of the Mbah administration.

In his acceptance remarks, Igwe Godwin Madu commended the group for what he described as its genuineness and reaffirmed his strong support for Governor Mbah, citing the visible transformation recorded across Enugu State.

The traditional ruler emphasized his belief in integrity and uprightness, stating that as a custodian of culture and tradition, he does not associate with “two-faced” individuals. He pledged his “100 per cent support” to the movement’s agenda towards the governor’s re-election.

Dignitaries in attendance included Chief Obiora Onyeama, Chief Harry B, Mazi Obiora Okereke, Innocent Ibeh, Hon. Okey Onwuama, Chief Felix Anyadiegwu, Prince Chinedu Ezeh, Obieze Ifeanyi, Chief Chinedu Enyi, Prince Chukwuemeka Okorie, Maduka Jiber, Odoh Emeka, Ejiofor Ezeifeoma, Obasi Iheanacho, Chief Macson Chukwujioke, Justice Oduche C., Onu Anthony C., members of the Igwe’s cabinet, friends and well-wishers of the kingdom.
